Philip Cassel, a managing director at Cassel Salpeter & Co., has over a decade of experience guiding clients through M&A transactions, capital raising transactions, and advisory assignments across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, business services, manufacturing, technology, consumer products and services, and more. He has worked with companies in both healthy and distressed situations, including assisting debtors through bankruptcy proceedings.

Philip uses the skills he has developed at the firm and prior work in turnaround consulting and private equity to help clients in the lower middle market navigate the complexities that inevitably arise in a deal. Through a solution-driven approach, Philip works collaboratively with clients, investors, buyers, and other advisors to ensure the best outcome possible for the client. He focuses on long-term relationship building and providing the firm’s clients with unbiased advice.

Through his work with private companies, private equity firms, public company buyers and sellers, banks, and investors, the situational knowledge Philip has attained over the years continues to drive successful results. Whether it is an M&A transaction or capital raising opportunity, Philip has proven his ability to drive processes forward and get deals closed.

Prior to joining Cassel Salpeter, he worked for Rialto Capital, pioneering the finance group and assisting with the management of a real estate private equity fund. He has also worked at Alvarez & Marsal in the Turnaround and Restructuring Group, where he participated in restructuring projects in the telecommunications, mining, and manufacturing industries, including working onsite at the largest telecommunications company in the Virgin Islands. He handled cash flow modeling, budget planning, court filings, distressed M&A, and claims management. He also played an integral role in the sale process of several entities and assisted with the investigation of potential fraud.

Philip earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Cambridge, MA.

He stays involved in the community through his work with Ransom Everglades School, Temple Judea Margaux School, United Way, and other non-profit organizations.

Philip was born and raised in Miami, where he currently lives with his wife, Charlotte, and two kids, Emilia and Abraham.
